So at the end of July, we went for a walk up Hobble Creek Canyon. Tyler and Nathan were on their scooters and Aubrey was on her bicycle. It was a pleasant walk until Nathan went down a hill too fast and fell off his scooter. It was obvious his arm was broken. Here's the Xray from the ER:

Well, he went into surgery got it all set, stayed in the hospital for 3 days because it was a compound fracture and we went back in 12 days to get a cast put on. When the doctor took another xray, here's what he saw:

The bone that was so perfectly lined up had slipped out of place and needed to be reset again. To avoid the same thing happening again, the doctor decided to put a plate on his bone. This is very uncommon in children because their bones are really good at mending themselves and finding out where they are supposed to go. But, that would be leaving it up to chance and the possibilities of complications if it didn't heal right. So we agreed to the plate. Here's a picture of the plate.

He will need to go back around Christmas to get the plate removed because he is still growing. If he wasn't growing any more, they would just leave the plate in forever. At our last check up his bone was healing nicely.
