Some of you have heard this story, and some of you have not. We had a family reunion at Bear Lake this summer. Lots of fun, sun, and family. It was good. On our 3rd night there we were playing "Family Survivor" to earn points to win the house cup. One of the events was called Electric fence. You take a rope that starts low and get your whole family over without touching the rope. Each time the rope gets higher while eliminating families. It was down to my family and my brother Darren's family. The rope was about 4 feet high. Jonathan gave me a leg up to get over the rope. I came down and rolled my ankle and heard a pop. After that I wasn't too excited about doing any of the other challenges. The next day we went to the medical clinic at Bear lake and learned that it was in fact broken.
For those medically savvy types in the family, there are two things in this x-ray that were of concern. My fibula (the thinner leg bone) has a diagonal fracture which is obvious, but at the bottom of my tibia (the larger leg bone) the gap going around my ankle is supposed to be the same all the way around. You can see it is larger on the right. This next xray shows it in a better position. You can click on these images to see them closer. That spike on the tip of my tibia means somewhere along the line I've sprained my ankle and didn't know it.

Wow, that's too bad. Its sad it happened while having fun too. Probably messed up the rest of your vacation. I hope you are feeling better and from the looks of things you seem to be getting around ok. Good thing it was during the summer so you didn't have to worry about cold toes and legs.
