Staying with Grandpa and Grandma

I have fond memories of staying at my grandma's house and sleeping on her family room floor. All 8 of us sprawled around trying to find space. I wanted my kids to have that same kind of experience so the first 2 nights we stayed in Washington, we stayed at my dad's house and slept on the floor in his family room. It was great.
Yes, Ryan slept on the couch and never fell off. We wore him out so well by the end of the day he was exhausted and happy to curl up with his blanket and close his eyes.

When the kids got restless, grandma Cheri took us to the safest park I've ever been to. Don't get me wrong, it was a lot of fun, but I don't think you could hurt yourself if you wanted to.

To start with, all the swings buckled you in. My kids thought this was a cool novelty. It's like being a little kid again. Oh yeah, see that brown ground? That is a rubber mat that was everywhere. It is quite springy and fun to run on.
You don't see very many merry go rounds anymore because they tend to sling children off. I have first hand experience with this and had the blood soaked hair and stitches to prove it. But here is one level to the ground and surrounded by rubber sponge. Still quite a bit of fun. See that stuff that looks like grass behind it. It's not, it is a great big hill of rubber sponge with plastic grass on it. That's where they put the kiddie slide. No steps to go up, just a hill.
And the tire swing that doesn't spin, has no chain and no hole to fall through in the middle. Again surrounded by rubber sponge. Tyler loved this one.
And lastly, the big slide. No falling off the edge of this one.
